Dear Matt,

After listening to your podcast with Ian McKenzie I would like to circle back to the topic of masculinity and spiral dynamics.

But first, congrats to this exceptional episode - I am still working through it.

What I thought about again since listing to it, is a question I want to explore in the near future and maybe you want to think about it too?

If we look at masculinity trough the lens of spiral dynamics, then my question is: How does masculinity looks like / express itself at the different stages/memes? What are the healthy expressions at each stage, what are the unhealthy ones, that finally lead to the transition to the next stage?

What are the set of values at each level of consciousness and then the resulting behavior and structures that derive from it?

Maybe you know reinventing organizations (Frederic Laloux) in which he uses spiral dynamics to look at different forms of organizations. Something like „reinventing masculinity“ ;-).

And then - following the goal of a healthy spiral - how does an heathy (integral - Yellow/turquoise) masculinity could look like?

Do you have any thought on that for me?

Regards

Stefan

Hi,

Thank you for that Extraordinary peace of writing.

I liked it very much that you used a wider framework and building a solid ground with very powerful concepts.

And there lies my question.

What about spiral dynamics?

For me one of the most powerful (meta) concepts to make sense of the world we live in.

Did you consider it?

How would you Integrate SD?
